The Story: Over the past many years, I have observed and huge increase in the lack of common decency, kindness, and compassion. Bulling is a subject of daily news and unfortunate tragedies plague our communities nationwide and now worldwide.

When a community, neighborhood, city, or country suffers a loss this can leave a dismal feeling of despair and sadness.

I have always believed that we are a team in this game called life and respecting one another; no matter what religion, culture, color, creed, or political beliefs is our individual responsibility. And true change in a society takes an honest view and a choice & willingness to make the changes, lies in our intentions and the actions and demonstrate, all this combined, create the outcome, our Outcome.

From my point of view community spirit and brotherly love are not an option, if we truly want to make a change for the better.

We hold the power in our hearts and create sanity in life and in the world around us by making good choices in life, that have a greater positive impact on our environments and the people in our lives. With common sense, good morals, and clean honest hearts we set good examples to create a better world for all.

In most of my flag Heart Art I incorporate a 9 or an 11 or both, to honor 911, Firefighters, Police, First Responders and Veterans. This piece is one of the last drawings that was created during 911 emotional turmoil. This piece has 11 hearts as stars and 9 red stripes. The hearts are musical and incorporate Corinthians 13: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”

My Patriotic Heart Art is all about spreading messages of love, a dream that one day, most us will step up to the plate and say yes “We are all in this together”. Like 911, Covid 19 is just another “Wake-up Call”. Brotherly Love is a piece that stands up for love, decency, respect, and good old-fashioned kindness.
