Roses are simple, intricate, elegant & beautiful. When painting the original oil with my hands and fingers, I was continually inspired by its delicate complexity and intricate folds. Each petal enveloped within one another, like a mother holds a child. The center of the rose, weaving gently like a woman caressing a man and holding his heart forever.
Women are amazing, and in each one of us, is a goddess.
As I embarked on the journey of painting this piece, I met challenges and struggles, much like any learning curve in life's journey. But when I let go of the complexities, I re-birthed my artist talent, into a new way of painting. As a self-taught artist this how many of my techniques are born.
I moved beyond the challenges, the struggles & I found simplicity as my strength. And confidence as my voice. Painting with my hands and fingers was born and the Rebirth of the Rose painting unfolded triumphantly, blooming right before my eyes.
Like the intricate folds of a flower, women bring layers of love, nurturing and beauty to life. As I continued to paint the rose, I realized my entire rose series is dedicated to all women, my mother, my grandmothers, my aunts, my daughters, my granddaughters, and my sisters, all goddess of the world. This piece is a symbol of strength and a celebration of your inner spirit.
